This revolution, which began and culminated under the leadership of Shiite imitators, led to the establishment of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on Islamic rules and Shiite beliefs. During this period, Shiite clerics played a major role in guiding and educating the people and leading the struggle. The phrase of the Islamic Republic, which was repeated in popular slogans, was taken from the ideas of the leadership of the revolution (Imam Khomeini).
